A couple from Hull have found the home of their dreams at the popular The Leeway 2 development in Ings. Malcolm Bell, 68, and Carol Hewitt, 67, who are due to marry this August, are settling in to their new Compendium Living home.
Following their engagement last year, the couple decided to sell their two previous houses and start a new life together under the same roof. Searching for a brand-new home with a large garden, the couple moved into the spacious three-bedroom detached Woodford style house.
The couple were keen to remain in the area they had fallen in love with. Both Malcolm and Carol’s previous properties are nearby. The Leeway 2 offered them excellent quality and value for money in the perfect location.
The Leeway 2 is the second phase of one of the biggest and most exciting housing regeneration programmes undertaken by Hull City Council, in partnership with registered provider Together Housing and Compendium Living, giving the Ings neighbourhood a new lease of life as it becomes a more sustainable and better place to live.
Due for completion at the end of 2019, the pioneering development will provide a total of 68 high quality new homes to meet local housing demand, as part of the wider regeneration project in east Hull that will result in a total of over 700 homes.
Malcolm, who works at the local docks, said: “Our new Woodford home is fantastic, we love the layout of the property and the size of the garden is ideal for us.
“We both know the local area well and it is exactly where we would love to retire together. There are plenty of shops and pubs nearby, the development is on a few bus routes and there is also a golf club practically on our doorstep.
“Rebecca in the sales office has been fantastic, absolutely nothing was ever too much trouble for her.”
Carol, a retired building society manager, added: “The local running club is something we both love to take part in and we both enjoy getting our hands dirty in the garden. Our new home has the most perfect garden for us to work on.”
The couple are busy planning their wedding at the moment but are looking forward to enjoying married life in their Compendium Living home.
There are a variety of homes available to purchase at The Leeway 2 including two-bedroom homes from £133,495, three-bedroom homes from £186,495 and four-bedroom homes from £213,495.
